Celebrity Hairstyles

Many of the women of last night's Golden Globe Awards were pictures of elegance in their designer formal gowns, thanks in large part to their hair and makeup artists. A recurring trend on the red carpet were tasteful low buns and chignons, which varied in simplicity depending on the wearer's hair length and desired effect.

Eva Longoria Parker , whose hair was likely styled by celebrity favorite Ken Paves, wore her medium-length hair back in a architectural chignon.

Aussie actress Melissa George complemented her daring Armani Privé gown with low chignon of carefully-placed loops.

Anne Hathaway, who was rumored to have won the Best Actress in a Drama Award thanks to a technical goof on the Golden Globe Awards website (the award went to Kate Winslet), wore her medium-length hair in a low bun that was, unfortunately, a tad boring.

Newlywed Jennifer Carpenter (she just married her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall) showed off her fierce bone structure with a sculpted chignon.

Kate Beckinsale also pulled her hair into a chignon for the event, which helped her to show off her killer earrings and her J. Mendel gown's exquisite neckline.
