Tricky Stewart Explains Giving Brandy Record to Jennifer Lopez

There has been much talk about the origin of Jennifer Lopez’s first single “Louboutins.” The producer behind the track, Tricky Stewart, is setting the record straight on how the designer heels ended up on J.Lo’s feet.

“We originally wrote the song for Brandy and when Brandy’s situation kinda fell apart over at [Epic Records], there was an opportunity for us to place the record on J.Lo’s album,” Stewart explains to Rap-Up.com. Brandy was previously signed to Epic, currently home to Lopez.

The Grammy winner describes what it was like to collaborate with J.Lo on “Louboutins,” for which she will shoot a video next month. “I’ve always been a fan of hers and have so much respect for her career, how she’s put it together, and where she’s come from,” he says. “It was a great opportunity and she sounded amazing on the record, and [Epic] obviously already loved the record ’cause they loved it for Brandy. So once we got it sounding great, it seemed like a no-brainer that it would be the first single.”

Tricky and his hit making partner The-Dream contributed other material to the superstar’s new project, but he didn’t know if it would make the cut. “We did do other songs, but I don’t want to say our other songs are on there and they’re not.”

Rap-Up.com was one of the first media outlets to hear nine tracks from Lopez’s seventh studio album Love?, due in April. Click here to read our preview.

Jennifer Lopez: ‘Dancing Keeps me in Shape’

JENNIFER Lopez doesn’t have time to hit the gym now that she’s a mom.

The Jenny From The Block singer — who gave birth to twins Max and Emme in February last year — says her high-powered dance routines help her keep in shape.

“It’s the dancing, I don’t have time to work out with those two little munchkins at home,” Lopez told Fox News.

“I get a lot of my inspirations from old musicals, I like to infuse it. I grew up in the whole hip-hop era, so I like to incorporate that, it’s kind of a mix which you’ll see.”

Lopez says her son Max is “difficult” like his dad.

“He’s just like Marc — difficult … He takes after his father,” Jennifer said. “I’ve got to get ready out here, they don’t let me get ready in there,” Lopez joked. “He’s got his dad’s voice, a big voice.”

Jennifer Lopez in Top 10 hottest IT girls of the 2000s

Constructing a system for ranking the sexiest women of the decade is complete bullshit; beauty is too subjective. So instead, I’ve focused on a much more quantifiable quality: the “IT factor.” The IT factor is popularity on a global scale. It’s “hotness” in the Paris Hilton sense of the word. And while popularity isn’t an exact science, it’s much easier to gauge than beauty, as it can be measured by such things as the frequency of appearances on magazine covers, top whatever lists, and Google hits. While physical attractiveness is often an important component of the IT factor, this quality is also impacted by a variety of elements: talent, socializing practices, the size of one’s ass, sexual flings, sex tapes, and drug habits. While the IT factor isn’t always positive, often passing between celebrities like a game of tag, or an STD, or a bag of cocaine, who our culture chooses to gossip about says something about who we are as a culture.

2000: Jennifer Lopez and her ass. Although it’s been more than a decade since Jennifer Jopez’s ass first captured our hearts and minds, its contributions to how we define beauty can still be seen on the red carpet in the asses of Kim Kardashian and Beyonce Knowles. Her rise to fame began when she perfected her rock hard ass as a dancer on In Living Color (1990-1994). She broke onto the national scene as an actress in Selena (1997). But, it wasn’t until the release of her first solo album On the 6 (1999), that Lopez truly established herself as an IT girl. To cement her prominence, she began dating music mogul Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs, who transformed Lopez into J.Lo. In 2000, she expanded her influence, crossing over into the fashion world by becoming the face of L’Oreal Cosmetics.
